I got a call from daycare yesterday (don't you hate those?) because Blair had been stung by a bee. They said she was fine, but would pay extra special attention to her since it was her first bee sting and we weren't sure what might happen. She was fine - hopefully no epi-pens are in her future.
I neglected to find out where the sting was, so when I picked her up yesterday afternoon, I was understandably heartbroken when I saw that it had stung her right beneath her left eye! She looked so pitiful - it wasn't swollen completely closed, but it was very puffy. They found the next and sprayed it, but no outside play for the kiddos for a couple of days. I'm afraid the Boog may get a few dirty looks from the other children for wrecking their outside time!
As I was telling Brian about the sting on the way home so that he wouldn't be shocked to see her puffy eye, we realized that all of her significant injuries thus far in her little life have been to her sweet little face: chipped tooth, two black eyes, busted lip, scratches, etc. Gosh...we really do watch her closely, but writing everything out like that may make DFCS want to come knockin! We're going to have to look into getting a special catchers mask for her if this keeps up.

Awww! I think kids just "lead with their faces". At least X does. He's become a pro at falling on his head, in the EXACT same place every time, so he has a massive lump and a huge bruise pretty much constantly.
Do you have to sign "ouch reports" I would suggest keeping a copy. JUST IN CASE> Seriously, you never know..... ps.... I do hate those daycare phonecalls.
