Ruh-roh

Daisy, our four-legged daughter, has been great with Blair since the day we brought her home from the hospital. Mind you, I'm not claiming that Daisy showers Blair with affection...just the occasional face-lick every now and then, otherwise she basically acts like Blair doesn't exist. Which is fine - as long as we don't have to worry about Daisy mistaking Blair for a chew toy or anything (gosh that's a horrible thought...don't know where that came from).

But this past Sunday, I'm afraid that Daisy made her true feelings about Blair unmistakably clear. We (Blair, Brian and I) went to a friend's birthday party in Columbus Sunday afternoon and were basically gone from noon until around 6 or 6:30. Daisy stayed outside...in the heat...very reluctantly.

When we got home, we went about our business putting things away and getting ready to start Blair's nightly routine. As Brian was getting Blair's bath ready, I went into the nursery to grab PJ's, a towel and a washcloth. I had been in the nursery since we got home, but this time when I entered the room, there was something new waiting for me.

Right smack-dab in the middle of the nursery floor, Daisy had left...a, um, present. A rather large pile of presents, actually (remember - she is a big dog on short legs). I cannot remember the last time she had this kind of accident in the house. As she's gotten older, her bladder does fail her on occasion, but her bowels remain in tact. I immediately called for her to join me in the nursery, and I heard her run from the kitchen. But she never came into the nursery. So I peeked into the living room and there she was, hiding behind the recliner. She knew what she had done, and I don't think she regretted it at all. She wanted to make a point, and she made it quite clear. I'm pretty sure she had been plotting the whole time we were gone...

It was gross, yes. But it was also pretty darn funny. I've raised a very smart - and sassy - four-legged daughter. I'm so proud!

hahaha - tyson did the same thing in Lucas's nursery right after he was born - it couldn't have been more in the center of the room if he had had a tape measure. Tyson definitely has attitude like Daisy : )

Soooo, where's the pic of Daisy's gift? :)
I think I feel a little guilty that you left her for my party and then she displayed her feelings. Tell Daisy I'll have my peeps call her peeps and we'll send dog treats her way. Nothin' but love.
