Advice needed, please!

Can you believe that the Boog will be A YEAR OLD in less than two months? How in the blazin' hell did that happen? I'm sure this will be a topic for much discussion in a later blog, but right now, I need help. We did an initial guest list for the big day, only including family and close friends, and we're almost at 60 people! I can't have that many folks in our house - surely that would be a fire hazard?!

As a sidebar, I have to tell you the really sad part of this. The number of people on "my" list totaled about 15. The rest were Brian's. Aunt Vicki, Angel, would y'all consider moving to Georgia and bringing a few more folks with you to help boost my list? Please? Just kidding.

What I really need help with is WHERE TO HAVE THIS PARTY?!?!?! Any suggestions? It's her first birthday, and I certainly don't want to spend that much, but I have no ideas. Help me, please! Where did you have your kids' first birthday party? Any good parks? But what if it rains or we have an early cold snap? Any other ideas? PLEASE HELP ME! This shouldn't be this complicated - she won't even remember it for goodness sake!

For AK and Ryan, we had a three-hour drop-in type party at our house. We invited as many people as we wanted/needed to, and they dropped in and out throughout the time. Make it easy for yourself so you'll have fun! Take lots of pictures, and be sure she has her own smash cake. That's a must.

Hi Wendy I love all of the new blog updates. You are so funny and such a great writer : )

We had L's first party at our house, but we live out of state, so the only famil there were the two grandmas. I guess that doesn't help you that much. We had his 2nd bday at a park and I'd highly recommend it for a party that is mostly kids... very easy and inexpensive. I know that Heather has a lot of her parties and Noah's Ark.. that place with the animals. Good luck : )

I say invite everyone!! She may not remember it, but you need to celebrate surviving the first year!

I absolutely love to read your blog. You do a GREAT job. I sure wish me and Mom could be there to boost your family list :-). Do what I did for my boys first birthdays...made it where you could be in the house and the garage. The men sure seemed to gravitate outside then.

I did both my boys first birthday parties at the house and you were there for both of them. The more people the merrier!!!!
